One stem with different variegation

So after searching I found photos of hoya kentiana but it's leaves seem bigger and folded in slightly like a ship keel? These leaves are the same size and shape as my normal tsangii. Some may be slightly longer? But only a little.

Variegation can randomly occur in many plants! My sp. NS05-055 ( thought to be an aff. anulata) threw out a couple of white leaves, then a couple of variegated last summer. Took a cutting of it, to make a new plant. Sadly, the cutting didn't take (this one, unlike tsangii, is a pain to root). Hoping that it will throw out another variegated vine.

If they are long enough, take a few cuttings and make a pot :)

Wow! Very nice! I love variegated plants. I just ordered variegated kentiana.....going plant shopping is like a treasure hunt. You never know what you're going to find.

This isn't random growth, this is several cutting in the same pot with the same variegation. I looked up the supplier and they don't stock this variation. I've decided it's not a virus or deficiency but I think this plant is mis named and it's probably a different hoya.

Yeah definitely not tsangii. Gorgeous hoya though. Congratulations on that find.

So the question is... if it's not tsangii, what is it? and can I pot it up with them anyway?

No clue. Leaves don't look right for kentiana variegated.

The issue with naming hoyas:

I would tell you that this is not tsangii (which used to be synonymous with DS-70).

I would also tell you that it's leaves look very much like that of odetteae, aside from variegation. I would also tell you I know odetteae as odetteae, not tsangii; although, there are some who claim this little yellow flowered beauty is the real tsangii, but until it is published as tsangii, I will keep mine named as I received it.

Ha ha! It's so confusing, isn't it! I guess until/if it flowers I'll never know what it is. I spent the last few days googling for any plant it could be. Leafwise I got longifolia, kentiana and shepherdii and it dosen't match any of them and that's not even with the variegation.

Do you have and grow odetteae? (which might be tsangii, lol) Do you have photos?

I emailed the supplier of the plant (it was bought from a local big box store? is that what it's called in the US?) anyway, I found the nursery that sells the plants to said stores. I sent them a photo and they said it's an odetteae (tsangii) Keeping in mind this is the same people that labelled this hoya below as kenejiana...

It should do fine with the others; I still think it is a mutant sport or odetteae cross (with what? Who knows!?), so it should like similar conditions.

Anyway,, It's going into the pot with the others :D Time will tell what it grows up to be, if it survives, of course!

Aurowara, what is your tsangii potted up in? It looks like a lantern, but I'm sure it's not.

It is in a pot with my regular mix. I just have the pot hanging in an old tea candle holder, lol.

Update, Since I bought this plant, I have found another variegated one and I know of another person buying one as well. So what ever it is, they are around.
