Lack of sun? Increased soil levels?

Was it much larger before? Do the stems emerge from the ground in a donut shape, no stems from the center of the plant? Is it in a depression in the soil? Is it much more shaded over the last several years?

Have you been getting late frosts? Some of mine were blasted by an April frost last year.

Perhaps it got covered too much by fallen leaves or mulch?
