Your deeep thoughts

I have this habit of coming up with random "Deep Thoughts." It happened again tonight. Won't you join in?

1. I still think Oil of Olay has the prettiest bottle for face cream, although I do prefer their old glass bottles.

2. After watching NBC News tonight, I really wish the sleeveless and busty wedding dress trend would go away and never come back.

Too funny, Oakley. I was all ready to respond, "Death." In light of your examples, that may be too deep. I agree with #2, but haven't seen an Oil of Olay bottle.

Agree on the sleeveless/busty wedding dress look and will add: I waited out the low rise jean fad and now am waiting for the leggings-for-pants look to move on.

Why do you have to put in all those extra 00's at the ATM. You can get $20. You cannot get $23.17. What is the point?

You know, that IS a pretty bottle. Classic. Like an Evening in Paris bottle.

Yes, and I remember when the Oil of Olay liquid was pink or a shade of pink, not white like it is now correct?

I think it used to be pink too, and it smells nice. That's about as deeep as I can get at the moment, LOL.

I used to use Oil of Olay. When I lived in England 1967-73, it was called Oil of Ulay. Same stuff. It was pale pink.

Why is it Hellman's or Best Foods mayo depending on what side of the Rockies you're on?

I wish sizes remained consistent over time. There are some brands where the number remains the same but the clothing in that size gets bigger and bigger and bigger. Who do they think they're fooling.

3katz, that's the truth. When I was a teenager, I wore a 7 or 8. I'm still the same size, more or less, and now I wear a 4. I'm the same, but the sizing has changed. I think they are fooling the people who want to be thinner and don't care to analyze what's going on.

3katz and Linelle......I totally agree with you! I am now "down to a 4".......! Wasn't Cheryl Tiegs the perfect size 8 ? She looked pretty darn good. Now if you wear an 8 you are more on the fluffy side!

I hope the classic dress shape sticks around longer. I don't know what to call it, it's just so, well, classic, and seems to look good on everyone (as long as it's fitted right. I have trouble because I take a petite, I'm short-waisted, and in regular sizes the waist hits me at the hips.)

Who at Amazon decided a white Echo Dot looked best with a black charger and usb cord??? It cost me 1/2 as much as the Dot it's self to correct this colossal blunder.

Lizzie, after catching my little GD's and GS's colds, I run for the hills when they've got one! Mine turn to bronchitis almost immediately.

Well I'll be. I keep Oil of Olay next to the bed during the winter because of the dry air coming from the heater vent above the bed. I just looked, the bottle (plastic) says it's "Olay Complete." It has sunscreen in it so I guess that's why it's not just regular OO. It is white, not pink. I'm going to look to see if they make the original OO.

About sizing, I disagree, keep changing them! LOL

And why does the mayonnaise jar always say "REAL" mayonnaise? What else would it be? My butter-type spread also says made with "REAL" yogurt.

I've used Oil of Olay for years (DH calls it "Oil of Old Age") and never wondered what an Olay is. :)

I wish the ladies on the channel 7 news didn't have to wear tight sheath dresses. Especially the weather forecaster. She must have a spandex blend fabric in every dress. The men aren't wearing a spray on wardrobe.

When I was a teenager and young adult I used Noxema. I can still remember the smell and the cool feeling on my face. Mostly used it to wash my face tho not as a moisturizing cream if I remember right.

I use the Oil of Olay for normal skin, it does have the sunscreen. I wonder if The Vermont Country Store carries the original pink?

Why is moms church doing a health seminar and asking for donations of margarine (among others things)

My Mom used to call it Oil of Old Lady

The other night I was at a friend's house with 10 others for chili dinner. It called for sour cream. She handed me the container and we both noticed it had an odd texture. On the outside of the container it said "Unreal!" She had thought it meant "Awesome!" or "Incredible!" No, it meant it was unreal (not real) sour cream. I looked at the LONG list of ingredients and milk was listed at the very end.

Olay Active Hydrating Original Classic formula maybe 9$ at walmart

Still pink, still smells great and still works as well or better than most other stuff I've tried - been using since I was 16 or younger. Otherwise known as BAM - Before Active Memory

I still have a glass pump bottle for olay!

Oil of Old Lady lol.. that's what my bff called it all the way back to our teens. I used it religiously for decades.. then someone (probably someone trying to sell me something at a cosmetics counter) said, "You are in your 40s! Why on earth are you still using a moisturizer you used as a teen?!" Her horror sparked me to stop using it right then and there.

Given the issues I've been having with dry skin, perhaps I should give it a try again. I loved the texture, the scent, the color.. and yes, the bottle. :)

Why don't restaurants include all ingredients in a menu item? For example we often encounter salads or pasta items that contain mushrooms, onions or other items that aren't mentioned. DD is particularly sensitive to these and will have to send her order back, while the rest of us are sitting there with hot food. I'm not as picky, but sometimes I just don't want the onions, kwim?

Isn't fat-free half &half an oxymoron? And is half&&half really the same as 10% coffee milk in Canada?

Fat-free half & half is truly awful.

I usually check Makeup Alley for reviews, and OO always gets 4-5 stars. I've used their Regenerist before and it did wonders for my face. Not sure why I stopped. OO's moisturizer is simply that, a moisturizer. You can put your anti-wrinkle creams under it. The price is good and there's no need to spend a lot of money on something that does just as well as an expensive moisturizer.

So the OO discussion piqued my curiosity, and according to Wikipedia, the chemist who invented it picked the name as a play on the word "lanolin". I'm still trying to figure out how you get Oil of Olay out of lanolin. Hmm...
