Masterbath materials

Here are our tentative Master bath materials and the Floorplans. I really like black slate tile for the floor. The shower will be the anthracite tile with the tumble in the pan and for a vertical accent stripe. Not sure yet on countertops, but have river white as a placeholder For now, any suggestions?. The mirrors are inset medicine cabinets. We will be using towel, hooks in the same pattern as the faucet shown. Will pick the fabric for the window seat and blinds after everything else is in place, again open to suggestions. Do you see any glaring problems?

We have earthtone slate floors in our master bath and I really love them. Like our tiles and with most of the slate I've seen, the tiles tend to have dimension of their own and are not flat. If this is the case with your black slate, you may want to look at Noir Travertine tile as an alternative. We used that for the bench and framing in our shower and it's quite beautiful. This is a sample pic but I'm sure you can find it in square form as well.

I agree with houseofsticks about the wc door; I think code requires it to open out...looks like you have room for a pocket door there.

Thanks and I agree on the door and have asked that be changed. It isn't a code issue though. This is a custom home designed by an architect in a jurisdiction with a very VERY picky building department. The permit wouldn't have been issued on the plans if anything wasn't to code.

When my parents built an addition to our home, they added a small master bath to their new bedroom and the issues surrounding the door were similar. The space was too small for a door inside the closet and it would have been inconvenient with the swing outwards as well, the pocket or hidden door was a really good fix.
