Iris "C"

Thanks everybody for adding to these threads! I love seeing all your beautiful iris!

Here we go with C:

Cameo Queen SDB - I took this photo at our local society president's house last spring; Aurora Borealis Iris Garden. Their fabulous clump was in full glorious bloom and I couldn't resist buying a few from them!

Cherry Tart SDB - Same story here. I loved the contrasting blue beards and took a rhizome home with me. :)

Cool As SDB - Also from Aurora Borealis Iris Garden last spring. I was sad they weren't splitting this one! I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

Chubby Cheeks SDB - Last one from the president's garden. Adorable, and might be fun to play with for hybridizing!

Now from my own garden:

Candy Apple SDB - not my favourite, but quite reliable, which shouldn't be discounted!

Cherry Garden SDB

Cookie Monster SDB

Cream Pixie SDB

Next on to the taller guys...

Champange Elegance TB - The soft colours are lovely, but I haven't been overly impressed with the substance. Overall a nice flower.

Coal Seams TB - first year in my garden. I got it a huge healthy rhizome as a bonus from Schreiner's. One of my best performers last year!

Copatonic TB - Amazing colour. Shines from across the yard!

    All done... thanks for looking!

Bloombuddie, I was SOOOO excited for that one. 2016 was its first year in bloom for me... and I wasn't disappointed! Can't wait for it to clump up!

Neptune, I too love Cool As. On my wishlist for sure!

Love Crystalline - is that a hint of green in the falls?

Bloombuddie, I really like Cotton Blossom. Judging by that photo, it makes a great clump too!

Some great SDBs. They need more chill than we receive so it's a treat to enjoy everyone's.

All these oldies were shared over 10 years ago. Hopefully there are new viewers who've not seen them. At least that's my rationale. I admit I do love the drooping falls of the oldies. During the resurgence of popularity 2 local iris growers appeared. My greatest pleasure was to walk the rows and take pictures. And choose a few.

Cabot Cove - HM'96, I love the uneven lavender color on the falls as well as the overall soft look of this one.

    Cajun Spice - HM'97

Caribbean Dream - AM'96, periwinkle that wants to photograph as blue.

Carved Pink - HM'76, hadn't seen this beard color before. Quite a lot of fade the first day in CA sun.

Champagne Elegance - RE, reliable bloomer, standards turn white.

    Change of Pace - AM'97

Chanteuse - HM'82, this one chokes me up. It hasn't bloomed these past few years of our drought and I so hope some of the non-blooming foliages are it.

Cherry Smoke - excel bicolor to combine with purple, and a shortie at 34 inches. I'm guessing the purple is Titan's Glory or Dusky Challenger. More impressive in person. Couldn't capture the deepness of the purple.

    Chief Quinaby - HM'93

China Dragon - HM'81, wonderful color, better branching and bud placement and I bet it would have won an AM.

Circus Stripes - HM'78, having a good year showing nice fall veining.

City Lights - AM'95, not as blue as this. IMO prettier than the popular photogenic 'Clarence'.

Cloudless Sunrise - HM'88, RE, gosh, I'm sorry I gave this away thinking I'd like another of Niswonger's newer ones in this color combo.

Colette - HM'94, look at that color change!! 'Ruffled Goddess' holds better.

Come What May - RE, haven't bought this yet. Wonderful happy color combo.

Congratulations - AM'88, the sun is accenting the red pigment for the camera.

Beth, Chestnuts 'N' Robins is lovely! In that picture it almost looks like an arilbred!

Criris, I'm really liking Canine Caper. Is it a good grower?
