Lol. Thank you all for your comments. I suppose one could slow the speed down, or select only one design to display. It's over the top.

Towncakelake, you've got me curious about your blue lighting

It's just all the LEDs we have on everything electronic, although to be fair a lot are green too. The play station, the game controllers, rc cars on the charger, cable box, etc. The display on the dishwasher is bright enough the kitchen glows blue when we turn it on right before bed.

    Ok - I did and now I'm so nauseated I wish I hadn't...

Article link Vegas lighting. A Washington Post article noted that blue light made mice really aggressive. They say it's not true for humans but I wonder.

Waving back at ya, Iowacommute! What part of MO are you in? KC, St Louis, elsewhere? I've been wondering about you and your adventure. DH is still farming, we're getting older. I might retire in a year at 66. I only work 3 days a week now.

Iowa, this is a video for you. This was last spring and that calf has done great ever since.

We have RGBW LED strip lighting in a cove in the dining room ceiling and in a living room dormer, and, while it's fun to be able to change colors, opinions definitely differ: I like warm sunset-like colors in the evening; DH leans towards more otherworldly greens and blues that I find grating. On the 4th of July I figured out how to make the lights cycle through red white and blue as a joke, but he loved it so I'm definitely not showing him this backsplash!

Great job with the calf Enduring! That is precious.

Well FIL and his brother decided at the very last possible minute they were not ready to sell us the farm. It's mind boggling because in another year they will start renting so they can actually retire since they're in their 70s. :(

Long story short we ended up moving back to KC so DH could be closer to work which has been good for his career. I'm still a SAHM, and we have been remodeling our house we bought in July. It's only on 3 acres in a lake community. It was a foreclosure, and people still stop by thinking we will flip it. So I made a deal with DH if someone comes along with the right number (especially cash) then he could pick out some land and build that beautiful little house our architect designed for the farm.

We miss the farm, but with the reception we had at the farm and at this point in DH's career we agreed it would be nice just to buy 40 or 50 acres around KC so we can ride our ATVs.

Good luck Enduring. I have been thinking about going back to work since DD is in kindergarten this year. I work on the house and volunteer in her school two days a week.

Iowacommute, 40 or 50 acres sounds fantastic. Sorry about the farm. I feel really conflicted for you and your husband. Are you posting pics of your new place on one of the forums? I'd love to see it.

I posted back in July I think in the Home Dec forum about what to paint the house. Well I didn't take anyone's advise ;), but imagine the house with a dark, smokey blue siding, white windows and gutters. Also the big shrub is gone. I'll have to take a pic tomorrow because it looks pretty different.

The inaide is a little tore up. We scraped all of the popcorn ceilings, painted walls and will install white oak hardwood in the next week or two throughout.
