I started some seeds the week after Christmas (including Frostweed, I think you suggested it) I am a bit worried, it was 77 degrees here yesterday. That's way too warm for us.

Iris, there is not a lot we can do about mother nature other than hope temps return to a more normal range. We had a low of 12 degrees and within days, it got up to mid 70's during the day here, too. Crazy weather. Most seed requires a temp range be met over a period of time. In the wild, most seed manage germination with all the weather shifts. I would think a day or two of extreme or unusual warmth wouldn't trigger germination. I set my mini greenhouses in the shade so the sun doesn't heat up the interior during the day and then hope! I've used this method for several years and have been successful each year. Keeping fingers crossed for this season, too. We'll all have to exchange notes later this spring. BTW, I think you will love the Frostweed. Mine was planted out too late this year to develop blooms so really excited for this coming season.
