Picking the Bones!

Here is the other corner of my kitchen. The backsplash is awful but can't be changed. (Maybe a little annie sloan paint?) I'd love it if I could get some styling advise on this area too. Walls appear much mossier in the photo. They are the same grey/green as in the other area we worked on. The long counter with the two posts is directly across from the area we just finished.

If the ribbon isn't working just use painters tape to give you a straight line and easy breezy paint stripe and remove painters tape:)

For some reason I always have problems with it bleeding under the tape :(

I use the frog no bleed painters tape and it works great...if you use regular painters tape do more of a dry brush effect.

the box is so cute! get clear spray paint and go over the whole thing?

Here they are! Real plants. I also added a pic of the other centerpiece

Soooooo very nice! I love it! I love the trim around those boxes, too! Can they be scooted back a little for just that much more distance from the water?

And I have trouble with paint bleeding under tape, too! LOL

That looks great Stacey!! I saw these urns and was thinking something like this would be pretty on your window ledge too between the boxes and the lamps if you moved them out a little more. You wouldn't have to get these, but something similar. Another thing I've seen is porcelain coffee/tea pots setting in windows with plants in them like maidenhair fern or miniature roses. That would all look good with your lamps and boxes and help transition the height difference between the two. Just a thought

Time to start painting that bathroom vanity!

Thank you! It's so much fun. I can't stop!!!!

Trim came today! They didn't have navy so I got black. Should I put it right on the edge or leave a little space?

I'd come off the edge an inch or so. That's pretty!!

Off the leading edge 1" is perfect...love the black!!

While I was waiting for the trim I finished the vanity :)

LOVE the black...and on the mirror, too.

Thought of you yesterday as we bought a cement pug statue for our grand daughter....it looks soooo real as it is just the right size and color. I sent a pic to her mom and she said we were almost in trouble as it looked REAL!

    Looks great Stacey!

like the faux stained glass too! looks sharp.

Downbytheriver, so funny I've been trying to figure out what to do with that window. It faces out onto our porch which is very close to our entry door. So we need the privacy all the time. The fake stained glass does the job but I think it looks a little hokey. I've been playing around with the idea of blinds which would look nice but they be closed all the time as were in and out of the bathroom all day long. I also need ideas of what to put on the counter in the bathroom.

well you can get the same thing only in a clear frost instead. or what if you painted that window trim black?

    Trim is done!!!

    NICE! Was it easy?

You are just getting all kinds of things crossed off your list while you wait for that rug.

And look who got more snow! We got 10 inches over the weekend.....and that was after enjoying a couple of nice weeks where all that snow we had before had melted. Oh, well.

It was easy! All you need is an iron! Yes we got over 12" and it's still coming :( I'm so ready for Spring!

Thank you! I don't think so but we sell lots of antiques, etc. on ebay so maybe I could convince him to sell it. Any suggestions? Something lighter I presume...

It comes in a linear design too...but I think to dressy for this space....I used that in a formal dining room here on house for Cait....FYI it is now turned properly...for some reason the electrician thought he was a designer and hung it this way!!! Crazy.
