Crossvine spacing questions

I'm currently planning out how to create a large vine trellis as a privacy screen, (hopefully) similar to the one in this picture. It will be about 12 feet across and 8 feet high. I'm planning to use crossvine on it. I'm trying to come up with an estimate for number of plants I'll need...maybe 3? One plant every 4 feet? I don't have a lot of experience with crossvine, so I'm not sure what to expect from it as far as growth rate and how quickly it will fill in...I don't want it to get completely unmanageable, but I'd like for it to be nice and full and not take an extremely long time to fill in. Thank you for any insight or suggestions!

How fast anything will fill in depends on growing conditions, particularly water in TX. Can you give information on that? Or you may want to ask on your regional forum.

Since this get to 15'-30', 3 seems like overkill to me on a 12' x 8' screen. If it's a really substantial support I would think that you wouldn't want more than 2.

If you want some repeat bloom beyond spring, look for Bignonia 'Tangerine Beauty'.

Thank you, NHBabs. Yes, tangerine beauty is what I was going to get. It's a full-sun spot in summer, north-facing, but gets a decent amount of water because it's at the bottom of a hill. It's sunny in summer, but then becomes shaded in winter.

Ok, maybe I'll just space one every 6 feet then :)
