I have been searching everywhere for this type of subway tile. I've only been able to find shades of grey. Does anyone know where I can purchase this exact tile with all the variation of color??? Thanks!!

After much searching myself,I think this is pearl white onyx maybe mixed with some rustic white onyx. It seems that the colors can vary drastically.

I too would LOVE to find this tile

This is Calacatta marble. It looks like a 3x6 subway tile size. A tile and stone dealer in your area should have it available to order or in stock.

MS International has this calacatta 2 x 4 mosaic tile. http://www.msistone.com/calacatta-gold/2x4-polished/

They don't sell direct, but you can search on the net. www.mywaytiles.com might have it.

If you are still looking for this tile, Garden State Tile carries many variations of Calcatta marble. they have 5 showrooms in NJ. This one is a 2x4 size (you can tell from counting how many run across the back). Depending on where it comes from/ who sells it, they may call it by different names. take the photo to your local tile professional to have them find the best match. and also realize that it is natural stone... there is bound to be variation, and you may never find the exact tile you see here.

I have this tile in a smaller version as a backsplash in kitchen, but it's not this gold. It varies in color based on lot.

I would be very cautious in putting this tile in moist areas. I love it, it is gorgeous especially this one it's the amber colour in it however think about the dust/ soap it will catch and the molds that could form on it. It is a very rough surface, not easy to clean. Just my opinion but I backed away from it. S

Would this work as a fireplace surround?

Calacatta is a very interesting and difficult material to work with. Don't get me wrong. It is stunning! But it does have a lot of variation, that is why it's crucially important to lay out the material prior to installation to play with color variation.

The one in the picture looks like 3x6 subway tile.

We work with Calacatta marble and have a good stock of it. Again, you can choose from various sizes available: 12x12, 12x24, 2x4, 6x12...

That would be perfect for fireplace surround as well. We had a customer who purchased Calacatta 2x4 for their fireplace, the customer couldn't decide between 2x4 and 3x6 and ended up with 2x4. Once I have pictures, I will post it here.

I think Calacatta Gold is stunning. I like it's great for around the fireplace if you have a gold flooring/tan or gold hints in the family room. Instead of the subway tile, try for the octagon style, that is very in and different. If you do go subway, go small for sure as the gold accents will be more delicate and unassuming.
