do it again the the spring. pruning is a constant yearly methodical thing. you can't just prune it once or twice and have everything coming up … desert roses

Tony, here is our friend Martin (Denmark)'s pruning guide ... Cut at a slant 1/4" above 2 nodes where the internodes are well stacked. Branching is activated at the nodes.

As bragu mentioned, it is best to prune during active growth (spring / summer).

You can can apply Keiki paste on a buds that you want develop a branch after pruning. I love the result and will be shaping all my adeniums with this paste in spring. :)

Thanks LatinLady and all, I will prune it with the pruning guide the next time. I did not cut it at a slant position and also does not notice the internodes during the first few pruning.
