Need Help with Sideboard

I looked for over a year for a sideboard to fit in an alcove in my dining room. My plan was to paint it white or gray, but now that I have it home I keep reading that you are not supposed to paint teak due to the oils in the wood. I can't find anyone that has a painted teak sideboard. I just put it in my dining room which I am in the process of finishing, but I am stumped as to what to do with the sideboard so I'm at a standstill!!!

Sideboard is Mid-Century modern and I liked it cause it has clean lines and fits right in my alcove. We use our dining room all the time and do not eat in the kitchen. This is our 'final' home and I am trying to get it right. I will keep the sideboard and have no plans on re-selling it. What should I do to break up all the wood in the room? All of it is different and it bugs me that the sideboard looks so orange! I was thinking of getting a rug as I thought that might help, but we just got the hardwood floors and I really don't want to cover them. I will get a mirror I think to go over the sideboard, but I haven't found the right one yet.

Maybe I should paint the chairs white???

I have tried to stain the sideboard darker to help with the orange tint, but it will not take the stain.

Can someone please help me?
