I want to accent the wall behind the headboard in my bedroom. the room is walnut brown and the walls are mocha color. the wall is about 3 meters long. is this wallpaper too fancy or shiny or it serves the purpose as an accent wall? is the pattern over the wallpaper matching a roll up curtain if I decide to go with this wallpaper after all?

From the colors I see it seems working really well together for your rolling blind I don't think it's gonna matter if the color pallet is working

Love it!! I can't talk my husband into wallpaper : (.......

Is the furniture walnut? What is walnut? The paper looks fine. I do not understand the question about the window coverings. Are the windows on the same wall as the wallpaper?
Very important to have the bedspread, throw pillow(s) and night table lamps all blend beautifully with this paper.

have you considered going with the new oversized wall stencils? They have some really beautiful patterns, and SO much easier to deal with when you tire of it in a few years. I'm loving this ginko design ... http://www.cuttingedgestencils.com/ginkgo-stencil-kim-myles.html

and one of the real benefits is that you can incorporate the EXACT color of your walls into the stenciled images.

mmmm i am really confused now. i really like the pattern but am afraid of tightening the room and over crowding it

i have a door that leads to the balcony on the accent wall. the window is on the wall next to it

I do not like the look of an accent wallpaper with a single door on the accent wall.

Lina -- can you "balance" the balcony door on the other side of the bed with a piece of art or a mirror that is framed in the same color as the door trim? or maybe if you go the stencil route you could tapper the pattern off before you get to the door.

Could you take a picture of your room? Hard to tell without more information.

my very humble down to earth simple room. the headboard is currently being tufted brown leather instead of the design and the wood is painted brown now.

If your gonna change your curtains yes but is there a way to paint the pink flowers on your bed
  • 13 years ago
these are actually easily removed stickers no problem with that.

Agree with above comment. Please send current pics if possible and let us know what stays in the room.

to the left of the bed is a night stand and a cloth hanger. will ultimately remove the cloth hanger. i think i'll loose the wallpaper and resort to a simpler pattern

Consider a folding screen to balance the door. Does this bedroom appeal to you?

actually it did not appeal that much to me. i would like a less fancy style especially with all the art work behind the headboard.

When you say the wood is painted brown now do you mean the furniture ie the bedside tables and the fitted wardrobes ?
If you want to be able to do what ever in your room and play with it go with plain wall paper then you get to hang the art or pictures you want by the way مرحباً

Lina, what you have to consider is where do you want the eye to be drawn to. You have to be careful to not make the room too fussy or crowded. The bedhead and matching furniture is rather ornate so you should tone down the rest of the furnishings. Remember less is more. If you are changing the bedhead to tuffed brown leather then I think the wall paper you have selected is great. With your blind fabric being some what neutral you have now the choice of using an accent fabric for a bed runner, 2 accent cushions/pillows for the bed, lampshade and pelment cover of window. Choice only one accent fabric an use it wisely and sparely. Good luck.

I agree to not use the wallpaper. Seems like there is a lot of furniture in a small space. Keep it simple. You already have the wall color picked out and different headboard. Is the large wardrobe staying? Which pieces did you paint brown?
yes the wardrobe the dresser and the two side boards and the headboard are brown. I've made up my mind to loose the wallpaper and go for a simpler one, stripped maybe .

this is a view of my entire bedroom wall. so i think it was a wrong choice of wallpaper after all
  • 13 years ago
Do you have any potos of the way the room looks at the moment. If your walls are now brown and the furniture is now brown it seems like it now looks very different and so would give us a much better idea of whether your wallpaper will look good.

I live metallic wallpaper and also love florals. I do think your wallpaper choice is nice but it looks slightly old fashioned. I think you could find nicer.

the wood is being painted at the moment. Won't finish before two weeks. I've made up my mind and now looking for another wallpaper
