Rooting Pachyclada leaves

A while ago I had to hack my Pachyclada apart due to rot. I salvaged a few leaves and chucked them into potting soil. I had to trim a lot of the main stem but there is a tiny bit still attached to the leaf stalks. It's a faint hope but I was willing to give it a go. It's been nearly two months and they are just sitting there looking the same. I'm not sure if it's because they have rooted or they are just using up the nutrients in their big fleshy leaves. Do you think they would have rotted by now if they haven't rooted? I'm not willing to pull one up to check. These are slow growers, right?
