Pachyclada is a slow grower (to start) but a very quick rooter. Try the tug test. Firmly, but gently, tug the leaf. If you are met with resistance, it has most likely rooted. If it is loose or comes out of the media, it has not rooted (at least not enough). If it does come out, you may notice roots. If so, you will need to remove some media from the pot, place the cutting back in the pot, ad re-add the media around the cutting. If it has no roots, check to see if the petiole, and what stem there is, is still firm and looks normal, not discolored/squishy/"peeling" or stinky.

Even when rooting pachyclada, there is little need to water. A gentle watering at the time you pot it up, then water as needed, once rooted.

Yeah, the tug test is a good indication of root formation. Also rooting is slower during winter.

From my experience, pachyclada is fast to root, slow to get going once rooted, but once it starts growing, it takes off!
