Sounds pretty normal - or even a little better than normal. Peas, unlike beans, generally tend to bear over a short period & then quit (or die).

As a rule, you can usually plant beans or peas in the same place twice unless there were disease issues. Based upon what you described, I would recommend planting something else in those pots.

I appreciate your feedback. Another question I have for you (or anyone with the knowledge):

How long until I can use those containers again for peas? I will probably plant tomatoes in them during spring but would love to use them for peas again next winter, if possible.
