I also have tons of seeds from all these trees preserverd in bit of ice in my freezer the apricots grow very easily usually they sprout like weeds mine are all either capilano x westcot x riley(s) x high quality orange red apricot (sold as westcot from Kelowna ) these all open pollinated and will most likely make something hardy enough for prarie cities I did keep track and label all the seeds.

Hi Mattpf ... I'm gonna rework my 'Brook Red', I just can't get the thing to set no matter the several recommended grafts I've placed upon the tree. Last year, I only got three measly 'BR' plums from that well established eight year old tree.

Hi Matt. I'll try another e-mail. Getting late in the season for cutting with days going 5-8 degrees above zero but we do still have 2 feet of snow on the ground so while the maple syrup is starting to run I think the fruit trees are probably still sleeping. Some of my varieties I might not have wood to spare right now as they are pretty young and I have sent out scions already to several people so far but ask and I will see what I can do. Worst case I will get it to you next year. For cherries all I have is the UofS sour cherries. Romeo, Juliet, Cupid, Crimson Passion.

I let the buds swell a little bit before harvesting scion. you can harvest scions and sucesfully graft them even after the scion has pushed a bit of green and bloomed. I'm not an expert but from my experience I think they take much easier once the sap has pushed and a bit of life has been restored to the scions. I find if you harvest in winter much of the tips are very dried out and stand almost no chance surviving while if left on the tree they recover.

We have had 15-18 Celsius here apricot buds are just starting to show a bit of pink. Still a few weeks to go

Hmn...my Capilano grew and had fruits on plum until I killed it when transplanting.

I will seal my scions and still ship them free of charge. Only things I want $1 each for is the seeds I worked my butt off to hand pollinating and labelling crosses x etc.....

Maybe if I sell five seeds I can buy a beer lol

Nevertheless...it can be done, have Sunrise apricot on plum for about 15 years now, I've never seen incompatibility. Matt...do you cross pollinate in a controlled environment.
