This is "hex" or cross back chair and has a seat pad and apron. But this style comes in all shapes and sizes and price ranges. Some have metal cross backs, just many to choose from. They are very popular with the type table you have selected. Really nice table by the way. with that washed white base, you have a lot of different directions you could take. I don't think fully upholstered seating would look quite right, might be a bit to formal for this informal and table and bench. You could do "host" chairs in full upholstery with the less formal side chairs. Something like that would work well. A chair like this might work for side chairs if you want more "upholstered look" because the fabric is less formal. I would want the legs to be the white washed look however. Just giving you options.
