It was stained. We mixed stain colors together to get the different/coordinating stains on the pine (ceiling), alder (built-ins) and oak (flooring), so I can't give you the exact stain names - sorry! Sample stains on boards of each wood species and then looking at them all together to get the look you're going for is the way I like to do it. Hope this helps!
