I think there are too many rounds with that lamp, so agree to keep looking. I'm glad parachute home gave you a sensible answer! Some of the worst sheets I have ever slept on have been high thread count sheets!

As far as the lamp, I think it is pretty, but if you are not feeling it, then I suggest you return it and keep looking. You have amazing taste, so trust you instincts. I would have to see it in the room with everything else in order to make the call on whether it works or not.

I'm returning them tomorrow. They don't work for me. Yes, this whole sheet thing is a lot. It's like bedapalooza between myself, Karen and Zaz that we will soon be experts!

My first line of business is figuring out the bed fabric. I assume most everyone here prefers the lighter option. I see some green here but not in person so may just be the other bed above it. Ugh, I just don't know.

As far as sheets, I always go low count. I tried pricey, high count and all they did was make me hot...felt great to the fingers, but not to the body. lol I buy mine at Target now...no frills..but nice and breathable. :)

I've been meaning to ask you where you found you dining room rug? I saw a pic of it posted on Zaz' thread about a week ago. You were showing off your beautiful, new bowl. It looks like a good quality natural fiber rug. It's beautiful-I am think about adding one to go under my cowhide in the living room...Been thinking about this idea for a few months now, but I would have to find a really nice one that has the right texture.

Hi, Karen. I have been saying I wanted the darker thinking it was the second swatch so kind of went toward that. When I take away the darker, I don't see green and live I don't see any green. I guess I just don't want it too light because I don't think it looks as good with the wood but I'm on the fence now. Thanks about the rug. It is from RH because they have, at least then, a lot of natural rugs and offered custom sizing so I could get the exact size I needed. It still will looks brand new.

Sorry the lamps didn't work, but I agree, you'll be able to do better.

Of these, I like your new #1 and your previous #2 equally well. Your new #2 does seem a bit greenish. However, I am looking at a screen. I think you're better off going by your sample. Even better would be to go to the store, presuming they have larger samples, and take another look in real life. Trust your own judgement.

I know bab, I confused myself! I'm not sure but my initial inclination is stick with #1 but then it can be real dark in person at times. I'll just have to keep thinking. I wish I could go to a store but I have none close by. :( I will show you the images under the direct light maybe so you can see what I'm talking about however it will never be under that close direct light. I'll get there.

I like #2 with it's similar lines. I think the dark striations in the wood tie it with the bed.

Hi Cathy and thanks for commenting. I have now moved away from wood and deciding between fabric colors for the bed. I was having a hard time finding coordinating pieces with the wood bed. These two options are just above.

In my house, these dogs rule. I'm an animal person so I treat them as if they were my human children. They are spoiled as they should be. ;)

Ordered a couple more fabrics before selecting the bed. I also received the duvet and cover this week. I love the parachute cover and the target duvet however I probably shouldn't have tried it because the duvet dimensions are too small. I put it in to see if I could deal with it but I do think it's too loose and now I have to find a decent duvet with measurements to fit snugger since the cover is 106"x94". Parachute's duvet is $400 and most do not think that price is necessary. Darn! I was hoping to be done with duvet searching.

Stefanie, is that duvet measurement a Queen or King? The Target king is 96x110. Also, have you washed the duvet cover? It will most likely shrink, being cotton.

Yes, Depo, I washed it and for some reason it is still quite small in the cover. I could probably live with it but it is loose in width and length. What size cover do you have on it and do you prefer a loose fit? I prefer the duvet fill it out. Their instructions were to wash cold and dry on low so not sure it shrank much.

Stefanie, I found that problem with RH pillow shams. They're bigger than most so I hand to order queen size pillows from overstock to fit in my standard shams from RH. King pillows were too big and standard pillows were too small. For some reason, those more expensive shams and duvet covers tend to run big and it's frustrating.

I had a duvet that didn't quite fit the comforter once. I simply sewed a tighter seam along the loose side and took it in a few inches. Would that work? Or does it make the whole thing too small? Ok, back to lurking!:)

Stefanie, My duvet cover is 96x110, that is why I bought the Target comforter, it was the only one I could find that was the right size. All of the other King comforters were way smaller. Like you, I prefer a snug fit.

I'm not sure why this is stressing me out so much! I know a lot of times some people prefer a little loose fit because it's more snuggly but I have a pretty good size gap all around. It does have ties so I have the bottom corners tied together but I'm not sure what I should do. I don't know if I should consider returning any? The Parachute cover is super nice and you can tell it's just a pure cotton which is what I wanted. They don't treat with any type of chemicals to soften it either. The target duvet was $210 with 10% off plus the red card and it's on sale now so I got the price adjustment to bring it to $147.99. Either way I'm not going to keep something just because I got a good price if it isn't going to work.

Hi Ladma! Not need to lurk. It could be a good option but I'm not super handy with sewing and for the price of this thing would hate to take it and go through that as well.

So do I live with it and hope the duvet shrinks at some point or return the Target to get their duvet? I'm going to email them and say I purchased their cover and it doesn't fit the duvet as it should and see if this is a known thing and confirm their duvet fits. At least if the sizing is bigger than I need to know the size because what their site posts should fit? Maybe stores do this so you have to buy theirs!

I don't think I'd be satisfied with the loose fit either. I think you have a good plan to email and learn what you can.

Overlapped. I'd be tempted to try the duvet that is sized (slightly big) to go with the cover. You'll probably have this bedding for a long time and you want it to look good.

I just purchased the other duvet and taking this one back. Depo was right, that Target duvet is very luxurious for anyone looking and on sale now!

I actually did purchase the king as well as the cover. Parachute says they designed their duvets to fit their covers so maybe they make them larger?

Nice duvet cover, Stef! That's always been my preferred type of bedding. I don't usually stuff mine though because I sleep hot. Plus, I live in the Deep South.

Seems this will be in order before the bed! I am having such a difficult time with this fabric. The one I've loved now keeps showing a green tone so now I'm at a loss. I really didn't want to go lighter gray but it seems like it's the greenish hue, which is actually pewter, a lighter gray or much darker charcoal. Not sure what to do! Any opinion?

I run my fan during all the seasons too. I like a slightly chilly room at night so I can get comfy under the covers.

I think both bed fabrics would look very nice! I actually probably prefer the one with the green undertone. It plays really nicely in your mock-up. So does the darker one too though. Can't really go wrong IMO, unless you don't want the green undertone of the lighter one or the colors are much different in person. Are those your only 2 options? I skimmed the original discussion on them.

I probably should've posted the fabrics before I asked! I'm not sure that green undertone is going to look good. I have some grays narrowed down that I can take a picture of on the table as well as I'll hang it from the wall. I want to go dark enough to have contrast from the wall and I do not normally gravitate toward grays. The one with green looks good flat or straight on because it goes a tad darker. There are a lot more fabric options but I am liking the velvet so trying to pick from there.

You're in the room and know what'll work in there much more than us on the other side of the screen. Plus you probably already have a vision for how you want the room to look and if the green doesn't fit into that go with the dark! It's really nice.

One thought. Will the high contrast between a dark bed and white bedding ultimately bother you? I love contrast and it looks good in your inspiration board, but is it what you want? I'm completely on board for velvet, but don't want you to end up with regrets if you're unsure about the dark.

No, I am fine with the contrast of the bedding. I currently have an ebony wood bed with white/ ivory bedding so at least that is not going to be a huge shocker. I do not want black but darker than light.

I'm glad you already know what the high contrast will look like in your room. I remember you mentioning a few times that if you could do it all over again you'd go lighter, but maybe you were referring specifically to the wood pieces or to the living area.

I saw my friend that is an interior designer and she suggested this one. It was the darker one we haven't really dug into. It has a lot of texture and more so than the others (a lot more expensive too). My husband likes the dark legs. Dark or silver is what I'm deciding now.

Yes, Jill. I would do lots different but I would do light wood floors and a dark velvet sofa. I still like contrast and I think this dark bed will look good with the lighter walls and wood.

This is the darker of the fabrics we never really looked at (posted way back) but super close to the one I had been posting. In person you can see lots of texture and there is some lightness in certain directions and light. I was going silver myself but my husband said dark so figured I'd get some tiebreakers. Still leaning silver unless I'm convinced. Of course I would end up with the highest priced fabric but such is my luck. LOL

Zaz, I'm surprised since you like light beds but probably in the overall look, it's best. I'll keep it light everywhere else but some art.

I know, right? Well, from the boards you have posted... I have been liking the darker ones. Really nice contrast, but the fabric still looked soft, which to me makes a difference. (just my opinion of course)

Sorry for being MIA but work is keeping me busy! I did order the bed but it's due the end of April. Now need to order the dresser and add it to the order. Quick question, the dresser is $2000 and the only thing that gives me pause is the construction. Wish it was solid wood. What do you guys think of this construction? The thing is I really like this look.

Stef, I just called her and she said it seems to be of very good quality. She said it's very, very heavy, the drawers slide very nicely and no scratches on hers yet but she has been careful to not test that scratching aspect, lol:)
