Using 12x24 wall tile as backsplash?

Has anyone used 12x24 wall tile (using in shower and on tub deck) as backsplash tile? Thinking to use as is or have tile installer cut down to a smaller size if the 12x24 doesn't look right. Here's a pic of wall tile and floor tile and an inspiration photo. Will have a white vanity and solid white quartz countertop. I plan to have the mirror hang over the upper portion of the tile as pictured in the inspiration pic but mine won't have the pretty apron panel. 3cm quartz. Opinions please? The vanity is on the opposite wall from the tub and shower.

I don't think it works with your counter material. Your splashes need to relate to your counter, which is why most often the counter material is what is used.

Why would it look like floor tile on the wall? It's totally different from the floor tile. As long as the while of the tile goes with the white of the counter, I think it would look fine. But I would probably use the quartz on the tub deck and use this tile as backsplash around the tub also.

I thought to use this wall tile mainly because I wanted the counter backsplash to go higher up the wall instead of the standard 4". It seems the drywall always gets water spotted around the handtowel hanger no matter how careful we are not to splatter water and to wipe down. I didn't think the simple white quartz going up the wall any higher than the 4" would look right. By reusing the wall tile from the shower, it 'could' balance the room. I'm not using any trim tile (no accent mosaic) or I would maybe repeat that here. I did think perhaps I'd get tile installer to cut the 12x24 to a smaller size (6x24?, 6x12?) maybe to break the pattern up a bit. But, not sure if that is even doable. This is my first bathroom remodel so on a steep learning curve. Tks for the feedback so far.

So the marble-looking tile is also used in your shower? I did not catch that the first few times I read your first post! Yes! given that you are using that tile on the shower and the tub deck, it is great to use it as pictured in your inspiration photo, with white quartz counters. Of course, the counters need to look good with the white of the tile, no clashing of undertones. It will look best if you also use one course of this tile around the tub surround area, mimicking the same "backsplash" effect there as you are doing at the counter.

Nancy - thanks! Yes I had planned to do the marble look porcelain in shower, on tub deck and at least one course, maybe two on the two walls of the tub alcove (shower is 3rd 'wall') If I have enough tile, I'll do the entire walls from the vanity counter up to ceiling. That is plan A. Plan B is just 1 course up. I ordered extra tile but will do a mock layout this weekend to see which way to go.

I think that as long as the counter doesn't have a curb (the piece some would call a backsplash...but it's only a few inches tall), that tile would look great with the white countertop.

I actually recognize the sticker on the tile...it's pretty convincing in person! My tile salesperson says that with slab porcelain more common, the trend is going bigger and bigger with tile surrounds and backsplashes.

We used our 24" X 24" floor tile as a backsplash for our bathroom vanity; we did cut it down to 20" high. We have narrow grout lines and it seems to look and work fine. The tile has a uniform through-body color similar to that of the tile surfac, and we had the top, exposed edge polished, which was all we did to finish off the tile. If your tile has a contrasting underbody, you should consider using a slim, wooden trim piece to finish off the top edge.
