Hoya lockii

She has put out several peduncles, some of which, had blasted, which I expected, with my getting used to growing her the way she wants, and with her, at the time, being a young plant.

She has also grown in leaps and bounds, and is becoming a fast favorite. Semi-hydro seems to work best, but unlike multiflora and javanica, she doesn't seem to pout if you forget to refill her reservoir for a couple of days.

Next time she blooms, I will be sure to photograph! They are something else, and she blooms quite often!

Wow, I wish mine would like yours Aurora. May I ask what growing mix you have on her?

    Sweetheart how is yours doing?

The last order i made to Thailand was a joint order with me and Jan. The poor Lockii white that she order did not take to well to the shipping. I think last time i checked Jan said it was barely holding on. lol The plant started to rot and i had to actually take a cutting to send to her. So the rest of the stem would not continue to rot.

She's still here, even though the yellowing leaves still there. It started yellowing the leaves when I left it for two weeks on Christmas. Not to mention I cut her off to grow other stem. I don't like the look before, straight& tall.

Sorry, power outage + long shift today.

Just a 1/2 inch bark/perlite/hydroton mix in a plastic deli cup rigged to be my semi-hydro pot :)

Thanks, Aurora! I have mine on special orchids mix and hydroton.

I just ordered Hydroton on Amazon and it will take 1-2 months for delivery! And it's not even coming from Germany. :-(

    Sheesh!

Lockii is one of my top 4 for AH. Doug from Vermont Hoyas states it's an easy one to grow. Is this not the case? I love the leaves.

Monica i dont want to discourage or anything but shipping on the ones with thin leaves can be hard.

Oh you're right tlbean. I didn't think of that. I guess it is more like Multiflora. The wave in the leaves reminded me a little of Incrassata, but those leaves are more succulent.

I just had a lockii from AHHoya arrive last week in nearly PRISTINE condition (part of a previous group order). This one actually seems to travel quite well. A couple of yellow leaves and one lost peduncle was the only damage.

Yeah. My praetorii's were ok even though they have thin leaves. But the lockii white that Jan sword got was in bad shape. I guess it just depends. I definitely would not order a multiflora from thailand, but thats just me.

Wow! after 8 days! It looks great! I guess different factors play in to how they will arrive.

A little off topic, but when placing an order with AH Hoya is their availability what is displayed on their web site or their price list? Or, do you just have to check with them at the time of the order? Thanks

Their price list. But it's best to ask them and check availability.

    Gotcha, thanks!

Monica, when you send your list to me (or AH), she checks to see if the plant is in stock. If not, she lets you know and then you can pick an alternative. This is why I always ask participants in group orders to choose a few alternative choices.

Thanks aurorawa. I keep changing my list which is why I haven't sent it to you yet. Too many beautiful Hoyas to pick from.

Lol. I feel your pain. Might want to stick to 4 for now, as that seems to be the amount everyone wants. All participants except you and possibly Bridgett have sent their lists to me. Always send me at least 3 backup picks, in case AH doesn't have what you initially want.
