ceiling lighting advice needed

Hi, We are finishing our basement and I need help with lighting in our main sitting room. What kind of lighting should we have? Am considering recessed/cans and track but also open to other ideas? Is track out of date? We will be using the space to watch TV/hang out. If cans, how many and where? Thanks

You can try doing something like this, it will give you plenty of light using 6" recessed lighting... If you like to illuminate the space more use smaller spacing and add more lights. Use dimmer switches it will help you achieve more control to get desired light effect for certain areas during certain times.
