Here are some suggestions for you-all of these plants can be the base plant in the pot and you can add other succulents, flowers around them!

i believe i saw 'fence posts' yesterday in a yard & they were enormous, almost toppling over.

i will take a photo later -as i may well be wrong.

I have a Mexican Fence Post in the ground and it's very large (probably 15 feet tall). They will probably outgrow a container eventually. Supposedly it transplants easily though.

Even the fire bush seems to get rather large (source 1, source 2).

Most any kind of barrel cactus is a popular container plant. I also agree with Bella Fiore on the Blue Elf Aloe. For Agave, check out the Arizona Agave (Agave x arizonica), Ocahui (Agave ocahui), Black Spine Agave (Agave macroacantha), or the classic Queen Victoria Agave (Agave victoriae-reginae). Some of those offset so will propagate themselves into bunches over time.
