I don't think it will hurt as long as you don't let any water get into the hose. You wouldn't want a freezing/bursting thing happening with the hose. I'd want to capture all the rain that might be coming soon.

That's what I'm thinking, too. Gosh...I need to make sure my gutter is cleaned out, too, before I do that. Chores after church tomorrow!

You're welcome. I'd hate for you to miss out on a chance to catch that rain because who knows when the next chance for rain will come along.

I finally put all the black pipe in to drain the rainwater from the back yard to the lower end in front. Phew... what a job.

Wow, Moni, that was a lot of work! I'm glad you were able to get it done. Y'all have been so dry for so long that I guess I'm not surprised that your ground was so hard.

Moni, how'd the drainage work? I haven't check my rain gauge yet, but I'd say it was easily 1.5" here. I'll check it in the morning.

Not enough flow, to see it come out at the end yet. But, I don't have a wet crawl space!!! Or, it is not wet as far as I can see, without actually crawling to the far end!!!

Well....I did not get my rain barrel connected. I was still puny after being sick during the week, so I got to church, got my folks' grocery shopping done and delivered and that was IT! I'm hoping for this weekend...

Sharon, I came back to add that since we have had so much warm weather, our ground is warm and even on the nights we have dropped into the 20s, the water in the one and two gallon chicken waterers didn't even freeze, and they were sitting on the ground. I suspect the same would be true of any water you catch in your rain barrel once you get it hooked up.
