Do you think these colors in adjoining rooms go together?

Here's the situation: My living room, which is the colors on the left, is adjoining the kitchen - which I would like to make the colors on the right (the red and yellow are small accent colors). My issue is, I really don't think it would look good with one room being one color combination and another room *that you can see at all times* being a completely different color combination. I've tried making them "matchy matchy" with color and I just really don't like the kitchen matching the same colors in the living room... and I'm totally in love with my new colors for the kitchen as well. So what would you do? Would you just make each room whatever colors you want and not care if someone thought your house was too colorful, or would you make the two rooms jive with their colors even if you didn't really like those colors in your kitchen? HELP?

I have two slightly different answers for you: it's your house; make it your own. Do what you love. Here's the second answer: but do so cautiously. The main colors of blue and white go perfectly well with your living room. Proceed with those colors. Live with it and then add the yellow and red a little at a time.Grow into it. You'll know when you are finished.

Try just adding a hint of the rusty red and the yellow in the living room and a shade of green in the kitchen. It's more interesting to have different shades so no worries about that. Yes...they go together!

The ONLY reason I'm so concerned is because the kitchen is almost fully open to the living room, so I just didn't want a total clash of colors. My gut tells me it'll be fine, because it'll be what I want (and I have 13 paint samples for kitchen wall color that were all flops, so I'm THRILLED to find one I finally like lol) but I like Darzy's idea with adding a little red and yellow in a pillow to the living room. Thank you!
