Me too, I have a Doran strain papilio that I have never seen bloom. Glad the storms passed you by....

Please post pictures of the other bulbs too when they bloom. 13 Giraffe sounds impressive...

Thanks Fred. OK up here in Spring. I'm about 40 miles NW of Ray. Crazy rain and wind, but no hail or tornadoes. Those were limited to the SW part of town. We have visitors from all over the world in the office this week and I am the safety coordinator, so my eyes were glued to the radar and the windows and my ears were listening to the wind and rain. Got pretty dark and ugly, but nothing extreme up here.

I'm glad everyone is ok down there. It seems you get some pretty dramatic storms.

I'm glad folks are safe! It's been one heck of a winter in California this year too... LOTS of rain. We're definitely out of the drought after this wet and wild winter!

My prayers and thoughts are with you and all the folks in California. I'm glad you're all doing better with the drought and things will get better, but please be safe.

I hope you, Ray and all the others in your area will be ok. We're enjoying a bit of a respite in the weather and the temps. are well into the high 40's so there's quite a bit of melting going on. Much to the delight of my pup who absolutely HATES anything cold touching her belly which is only three inches above the ground.

The Oroville Dam in California, which is the highest dam in the US, is literally falling apart with all of this rain. It's a very scary situation. Chunks came out of the main spillway when it was used and then a massive crater developed, so they diverted water flow to the emergency spillway and it fell apart too! There hasn't been enough of a reprieve between storms to get much done in the way of repairs. It's a scary, dire situation.

I've been following this story and my heart goes out to those poor people . I can't imagine living in fear of having my whole life washed away. My prayers are with you all.

Thankfully, I'm quite a distance from Oroville, so I'm not in immediate danger. It's a very scary situation for all of those who could be directly impacted though. A new storm is rolling through this weekend and may bring as much as 10"! Let's hope the storms are more mild.
