I would add some low maintenance landscaping. Some lower shrubs under the window and something taller in the area next to the window to balance it out. Something evergreen would work best here. Maybe a dwarf blue spruce that reaches a height of 5-6'

They are talking about the very front view of the house in the first picture to the right of the shutter you will remove. Leland Cypress also grow quickly and are reasonably priced.

How about trellis with climbing vine like clematis? Easy to grow and not too invasive. Could even grow in large container pot.

jdgail Yes, that is the problem area. The unseen sidewalk starts at the driveway and runs parallel with the front of the house before it curves around the landscaping on the right side. It gives me at the most 3 feet to work with.

I like the corner windows. Do not think they look off centered, but you have recieved great landscaping suggestions so far to balance them.

Nobody's talking about the sidewalk. They are talking about the front of the house, which is what you asked about.

An ornamental tree (cherry, dogwood, etc.) would serve well to camouflage that expanse of wall.

Thank you for giving me ideas to help solve the balance issue with the house! I do appreciate your time and interest. My options are limited because of the sidewalk. There are few plants that stay narrow enough for that area and planting out into the yard could mean losing the intended effect. Possibly the trellis ideas or a different architectural element...

Plant something that will grow quickly in front of the sidewalk. A tree centered on the wall and about 6 to 8 feet in front of the sidewalk. Or plant a trellis with a creeping vine type of plant between the sidewalk and the wall.
