I know this is an older post but Snappy is right,,,,alsobia is what it is. They have the prettiest tubular flowers and I think they are beautiful! As far as getting rid of the trellis, do you want it to go up??? Or hang down??? It would be a personal preference. Rosie

I love these plants. I got my first one in the 70's. it was classified as epiica dianthaflora way back then, since than they've changed the classification. I have been searching for one for years after I lost that one. You are so lucky to have found one tagged or not. I'm guessing you found it locally and not through a mail order source? Enjoy, they have the most wonderful frilled white blooms.

Sadly I don't have it anymore. I keep waiting for Lowe's to get them back in but,,,,maybe someday! I think they are now called Alsobia. There are several varieties and I love them all!!!!! Rosie

I'm sorry yours died. I think mine died from low humidity and where I had it was too close to t he heat vent. I want to try again and THANK YOU for the link. Oh my, so many to choose from.

Oh, I did take a cutting!! forgot...not rooting though...it's been a month.

recut and put it in a soil instead of water. Or in a moist vermiculite or sphagnum moss, preferrably in a baggie. not all gessies can grow roots in water.

I've got one, Rosie. Should you not find one, you could always try to get a cutting from me at one of next year's orchid shows. (Extra incentive for ya to go. Heh )
