PING ECF Divine owners.

Zone 9b.

Is yours already waking up?

I ordered Divine last June from JJ. Had a tuff transition from CA to FL and lost both inflows.

Divine regrouped and grew very well until dormancy in Dec. but no more inflows.

Well she is already pushing 5 inflows, 10 tip 1.5' tall tree.

I think I am going to put her in the ground in a couple of weeks for good.

cheers and happy Spring.

    Finally my first divine bloom.

Thrilled with the vibrant colors and honestly surpised with the fragrance. Though mild, the classic plumeria suntan coconut smell this one flower was revealing was stronger than expected based on reviews.

When there are 25 + open blooms it will be noticeable from a few feet away.

    No love?

Guess this thread will be a late bloomer

    haha

    Your Divine is looking beautiful....

My trees are starting to wake up and I see leaves on most of my collection .

Divine is still a little slow, but I see shiny claws so it won't be long. We had temps into the 70's today, but the nighttime lows are to cold. I think in a few weeks that I can bring my trees outside!!!

Heres to a new season !!!

    Cheers!!!

    Laura

Getting there. i'm still holding out for your next picture in about 10 days.

Storm came through and took like 50 blooms off.

    Such is life.

    Guardians are loving life though!

    Thank you.

Divine is currently in back yard and gets end of day sun but I get a crazy high temps and reflective heat from May - Aug back there that does not mesh with plumeria (in my experience). The shaded areas in back yard are already occupied by other plumi. Divine is about to be planted in the ground in my front yard that gets direct sun from sun up until about 2pm and then is shaded by the house.

Should be very impressive in a couple of years.

A little perspective in the pic..

My Aztec Gold throws 5" + blooms.

My two year old divine pushes 2.5" - 3" blooms.

Now in ground... look forward to Divine really getting going over the years to come.

    Seems to have adjusted well.

Good call, in my experience there is nothing to worry about once these plants are in the ground. Where are you in FL? The last time we had a freeze in my part of St Pete (close to Tampa Bay) was the 2009/10 winter. It did kill some of the (unprotected) plumeria in the hood, but mostly out in the unprotected hellstrip.

Truly unbelievable... on one of the splits a new inflow is pushing. Couple inches of growth.

its in the shade but it's there.

Getting ready have another big flush... "only about 15 blooms open right now.

There has not been one day since March 31th without blooms. Looks like I could have a 6 month + bloom cycle.

The plant is definitely happy in the ground.

Is there someone who sells cuttings or small rooted plants? These are lovely.

I'm in Virginia and would need to bring this inside but they are so beautiful I would love to try these. Thanks in advance, Kathy

Still going strong.... the early inflows have slowed but there are 5 "new" inflows that have yet to open their first bloom.

she is healthy as can be.

Is there any chance you'd be willing to sell any cuttings? A slim chance?

Looks great, can't wait for mine to bloom! Lori you can get a rooted plant from jungle jacks for about 20$ if you are interested!

Chris, I went to JJ's web site and they didn't have any in small, mediums were $27, before the $5 packaging fee, not sure how much shipping is. I'm sure they're worth it! I wish it was closer! Lol

Get the bare root medium from JJ.

Shipping the rooted plant is another 30$, at least. Bare root is probably 10$.

Unfortunately I will not be doing any pruning on my divine anytime soon.

Thanks, when my budget changes I'll get one. When we do a road trip to California will just stop by there and pick up a couple! We have family in San Diego!

Blooms from mature inflows are 3.5".

Blooms from the new inflows seem to have the most color and around 2", regardless of temp.

    Growing like a weed.

New inflows poke out weekly... JJ should be paying me.

    haha

Looks so happy. I'm jealous!! How does it smell?

    Has a great floral smell.

Many say the smell is very faint but I disagree. Not as strong as say AG or JM but the smell is very noticeable form a few feet away when divine flushes like it is in the most recent pic.

Looks great! Mine finally is about to bloom. 5 inflos and of all my plumies divine has the best looking foliage right now. It handle Harvey better than all of them despite being nearly uprooted..

    Pre Irma

Looks so good. I see your serenade in the background. Hope Irma will be kind. Looks like the model tracks keep moving further and further east. Might be good news!

Serenede will come inside. Divine obviously can't. I really hope it pushes more east. As of now I am getting the eye Sunday at 2am.

Yikes! Praying for ya, be safe. You may put a couple heavy duty stakes on it. Might even need to trim a lot of leaves off. My Divine was laying all the way over during Harvey and that was only 40mph gusts where I am, but lots of soil saturation. Worse comes to worse, have your shovel ready so you can run out there and dig her up before flying debris takes it out.

dupefl, I have a brother near Cape Coral so won't be in direct path but he has boarded up home and headed out of town. I hope Irma does not do too much damage. Stay safe.

    ^ prayers for your brother.

    last modified: 8 years ago

    It could have been worse!!

My Aztec Gold and JM were just barely small enough to be brought in after removing 75% of the leafs.

Serenede is still small enough where is came in as is.

My 4 plumeria are all safe.

Glad you are safe and your plumerias came out ok. My brother in Cape Coral came out OK too as only his screens house around the pool was damaged.

    Glad he is safe.

I have lived in FL my entire 32 years... I have NEVER seen a storm cause such damage to the ENTIRE state. Unreal.

Praying for steady recovery for everyone after Harvey and Irma and hope Jose get da heck out of Dodge and do not come near in-land anywhere in U.S.

Glad you and your plants made it through safe!

    Hi Everyine!!

Dupefl.. I just read the last 10 or so post to this thread and I'm just so impressed at the pictures of your gorgeous Divine!! It's so well balanced and healthy. It sure loves being in the ground and I'm so hapoy to hear your trees made it through the hurricane. I see you cut the leaves off to limit the wind resistance which could cause the branches to break. Smart move!!

It will bounce back quickly and have that beautiful foliage again soon!!

    Take care!!

    Praying for Power...

    Laura

    Nice pictures dupefl.

I tried planting a Divine cutting 2x already but with no success. I'm not ready to give up yet.

Would love cuttings of Serenade and more cuttings of Divine when anyone prunes and is willing to share.

My Divine is finally blooming and has 5 inflos. It is probably my greenest plumie.

I drove by my old townhouse today... the new owner kept my landscaping. Though not in a bloom flush it looks like one is pending. Just goes to show what early TLC gives a divine cutting in the ground in FL.

That looks awesome. I love how wide and compact it is. Did you root a cutting for your new house?

Yep. Two. Probably going to gift one as they both took.
