They are just beautiful Arif. I have a small bed in the front yard and once I get the fence fixed, I am planting many in the back. My flowerbeds will never look like this, but I can dream. So much beauty!

Kristi, I think this is the year that I am also going to try planting a flower bed. How will you he preparing the hed? I was thinking a bottom layer of rock might help to prevent rot, what do you think?

Jodi, I have very sandy soil, so don't worry too much about rot. They sink down into the soil after several years and have been just fine. I will be home before dark tonight so can count scapes in the little bed around the tree. Last count was over a dozen. There are lots of offsets and I think that some of them might be large enough to bloom this year. We'll see... :-)

Some people in Tampa find that the bulbs do not bloom well if they sink too deep in the sand. Do you have any trouble with bulbs not blooming if they sink into the sand?

I dont know what is too deep, some of my bulbs left undisturbed for 7 years were only about an inch and a half below the surface and bloomed well.
