If the palm has been growing in a warm area, it might not be a good idea to bring it outside as it may have tender new growth. I have a large one in the ground that seems to have overwintered just fine. I brought my containerized ones one for a good watering but would bring them in if temps got into the mid 20's at night.

If it has been inside for months wait until indoor and outdoor temperatures are much more similar. In my area this would typically be June.
