id advise against using a moisture meter. Frankly, they are not accurate at all.

If you're watering when the top is dry, the soil lower in the pot could still be very wet, which would lead to overwatering and root rot.

Try a sharpened wooden dowel. Stick it all the way to the bottom and then pull it out.

If it comes out dark, damp and stained with soil, do not water.

If it comes out clean and dry, then you should water.

Check that way every couple days.

you could lose that part of the stalk. Just give it a bit to see. If so, you can cut it back before the necrotic tissue. It should back bud lower on the stalk.

After you get back to normal watering, I'd give it a full flush in the tub.

Water so 20%+ comes out the drain hole.

One stem is black and the other looks healthy, should I separate them and repot the healthy stem??
