No. If you read through the FAQs over on the Seed Saving forum here you'll see that all that counts is avoiding heat and humidity exposure.

Thanks for the help. I have the seeds located in the garage, It's not a heated garage. Is that a bad place to store them? What would be a better place?

I store seeds in baggies in the refrigerator. One baggie for tomatoes, one for peppers, one for herbs, etc.

I use a plastic box with a tight cover. It is about 5" inches wide and tall and about 10 or 12 inches long. I made dividers from cardboard and labeled by vegetable. I put in those little dessicant packs you get in pill bottles etc. It gets stored in the mini fridge behind our bar in the rec room. I have hundreds of packs of seeds, and got sick of not being able to locate what I wanted when I went to plant. I even have some 12 year old canna seeds that I just got 100% germination from!
