Pretty normal leaf spotting from any of many possible fungal infections. This is an aesthetic issue and does not mean the plants are declining. Your extension service may be able to suggest a broad spectrum fungicide, but most people just ignore it.

Many of my rhodies go through rather bad bouts of this, and all _so far_ have managed to outgrow it. But I'm pretty alarmed by how bad it has gotten on this newly planted 'Choremia'. I decided I would treat it this spring just to be on the safe side. But I've seen them look almost this bad after being planted, and then completely outgrow it the following year. It also happened to another red one, 'Leo'.

davidrt28 - what do you treat with?

Monterey Agri-Fos. But your plants probably don't need it. Were they recently planted? If so, again, they are likely to outgrow it. Make sure you aren't overhead watering. Also, rhodies and azaleas really don't need a lot of fertilizer, despite what the ill-informed people at the nursery or store might have told you. If you've been "feeding" it, stop.

davidrt28 sorry for the late reply--yeah, they were planted just under a year ago, so pretty new. I missed your post and unfortunately I just fertilized them. However, I have never fertilized them before now. Should I go try to scrape out what I can of the fertilizer?

The plants really aren't looking better, if anything they're more yellow. Am I pretty much going to have to see what happens or is there anything I can do here?
