Roger - I currently have an obesum(?) blooming; that produced a 1/2 flower.

I don't know how to hand pollinate, but I thought this would be a good chance to try; since the entire internal part of the flower was exposed. So I took a tiny paint brush, maneuvered it to where I thought the pollen was, swiped it around, then did the same to several other flowers.

I need to do some research on the subject. I've hand pollinated other plants like Tomatoes & such, but it seems the Adenium pollen is a bit harder to get to.

Hi Rob I have better luck with a toothpick and pollinated the flower on the 2nd day it blooms. lots of people use a brush just not my way singles flowers are easy. Just keep trying you will get seeds it's fun to see what you can get but its takes lots of room

Just in that picture, 80+, but it's not as bad as it look's. I have another temporary set up in my Dining Room area too. But my next move is to build another set up like the one in the first photo. That one is in front of the sliding glass door that lead's to my balcony, so it get's the most light.

Wow, Roger ... I never thought we'd have the privilege of seeing your "Roger Seedlings!" You really do have a small nursery there.

I currently have a total of 75 to my charge and that can be a handful. I just moved them all into our spare bathroom ... We have a bathtub full of adeniums! We're experiencing a "cold front" with 35-mile-per-hour winds and heavy rains since last night. The poor babies got super soaked and I didn't want to leave them out there for another night of this. It's supposed to lighten up on Wednesday.

Anyway, here are my Roger seedlings. They are now 1 year olds. I expect blooms this summer!

I recently pruned two and left the other two alone. They each have several new branches coming in. I have the cuttings in dry soil & prepped for Elephant Roots. Let's see how that goes.

Don't be fooled by what you see on the surface. The pruned one in the 10" pot in front has 6+" hips! As soon as they dry out, I'll unpot to take pictures. One of the unpruned ones has a fat, single root, which I plan to soon cut to train for Centipede Roots. I have successfully created Centipede Roots on 6 other seedlings. Actually, it was a piece of cake ... I didn't do anything, they did! Will share pictures of these soon under a separate post.

Hi Maria that's only seedlings on one side of greenhouse other side are grafted plants most of the grafted are sold so l'm in process of pollinating blooms to restock up on rootstock

That's ok Roger, it's kinda your thread too.(Not to mention, I hadn't seen you around for a while.) Man, how I would love to have a greenhouse. I've thought about enclosing my balcony, but I know the HOA would never go for it.

Rachel - That's exactly how I planned it out. Contrary to the pics; which look crowded, my living room is actually wide open, all the grow set ups are around the perimeter but right next to where I sit.

I used to have my grow set ups spread throughout my house in different rooms, and I've even considered buying one of those "Grow Tents", but in the end I decided, there's no point to it all; if you can't see & enjoy the beauty you've created. Although I do have plants in nearly every room, I keep most of my favs in my living room; where I spend most of my time.

I don't know about Australia, but here in the U.S.; Marijuana legalization is running rampant. These tent's were primarily designed to grow Cannabis, but I've seen a lot of people on this forum using them for Adeniums (and anything you can think of). Judging by the surrounding leaf damage, perhaps too much rain or a creepy crawlie ... The tiny buds dropped and only one remains. Keep your fingers crossed!

Sorry, no light behind me on this photo. RG 1 (L) & RG 4 (R) were pruned. The two center ones, RG 2 & RG 3 are unpruned. RG 3 is the one blooming.

From the top ... very lush green:

RG 1 on the left is in an 8" pot because it has over 6" hips already. Will uproot to show at a later date.

Yes, Rob!! It does smell scrumptuous! The perfume is celadine. Apparently, "Bali Whirl" (Indonesia) is the only double (10-petal) plumeria.More info on the original post (link above).

UPDATE - Here's one of my "Roger obesums" that I grafted a scion from my "Fuchsia Flame" onto.

Looking good Maria that pink should bloom true all the ones that I planted from that pod have I'm wating on the purple& white you have any of them that may bloom this year? We have had some real cold days and I have lost some seedlings(cold for this part of the world anyway) I'm ready for summer!

Hi, Roger! Nice to 'see' you. I only have some of the pink seedlings blooming for now. Of the other seeds you sent me, I only have 3 Rinoa Quartest and 2 purple/white seedlings.

Those were planted late in the season and are only 4 months old. I also lost a few seedlings due to cooler overnight temps (68 - low 70s) which, coupled with our high humidity, creates a clamminess weaker adenium seedlings don't survive.

The remaining 5 seedlings may very well bloom come summer. I will certainly share when they do.

Huh ... My 1st Roger Light Pink, planted March 2017, bloomed red & white! Roger, if your planted seeds all came out light pink, maybe the seed packet was incorrectly labeled? Let's see what I get with the rest. I planted about 16 of these. It's a pretty, silky-looking flower and strong early bloomer. So far, all your seed stock is producing strong plants. Nice work.
