We are building a 16' x 16' gabled screen porch off the back of our house with a 14' high cathedral ceiling. Our architect included cove lighting along the two sides of the deck for LED strip lights. She has then suggested two pendants and a ceiling fan hanging in a row below the ridge line. She does not like the idea of recessed lights.

The LED lights are adjustable white lights and will throw up to 7530 lumens. I would like additional light for the center of the room. We are probably going to lay out the room with a table on one side and a seating area on the other:

I'd love suggestions on whether to use pendants, and if so, where to position them. We are planning on one ceiling fan centered in the room and are conscious of avoiding the strobe lighting effect. If not pendants then how about recessed lights? The ceiling is sloped at a 12 over 8.5 pitch.
