I upgraded :D

We turned my hoya shelves into a greenhouse and upgraded the hygrometer. Hubby absolutely had a blast (no sarcasm) getting to put his building skills to use:

This reading is from 3 hours AFTER misting. Humidity seems to be holding steadier for longer.

The mist you are seeing in some pics is from the humidifier. The top of the plastic is vented, and a few small fans were installed to disperse the humidity around the tent/"greenhouse".

I have a thermostat like that in my greenhouse also. Don't know if it also reads the humidity tho....That's a pretty cool set up you got there, Aurora! Look at all those happy beauties!!

Thanks! Still stringing up the remaining lights for the plants not in the greenhouse area. Once that is finished, we'll be done!

So, I may have accidentally created Borneo, lol! Been holding steady at this temp/humidity during the day (at night, humidity drops to 60%, and temp drops to 65-70F):

I have all my really humidity needy ones nearest to the humidifier and small fan, so they stay nice and humid, but also have good airflow:

The humidity does reach throughout the tent (a bit hard to see, but it's there):

I also repotted my favorite pottsiis up into one pot:

and potted together soligamiana, valmayoriana, ilagiorum, my 4 siaries, butleriana, and blashernaezii (it is a MONSTER!):

Took cuttings of my pachycladas and subquintuplinervis, and am making a combo pot of those:

And coronaria white (pink corona) had a surprise for me!:

Wow! that's a BIG combo pot!

Indeed! I have to untwine it every time I take cuttings, just to make sure of who I am chopping up!

My fungii is getting ready also. Her first time blooming. She has 4 peduncles but only 1 is swelling.

Be ready for some heavy perfumey scent! I can smell mine from upstairs, with the downstairs plant room door closed!

Ooo can't wait! She is hanging right at the entrance of my greenhouse.

Ended up having to make a few cutouts to the plastic tarp, for more airflow:

    Also installed a bigger fan:

The top hole lets air circulate from the ceiling fan:

The humidity has been holding at 70%-75%, so that's good. Today is laundry day, so here is that humidity spike I was talking about:

The outdoor readings are inside the tent; the indoor readings are of the room itself.

Also, my coronaria (white with pink corona) is blooming again, and this time, I caught the freshly opened bud:

    (With flash)

    (Without flash)

The ambient light causes the ivory look to the bloom. It is not WHITE, but it isn't that dark ivory/yellow.

As the flower matures, the pink will become more pronounced. The flowers stay open for almost 3 weeks, which is fantastic. They have a light, almost rose-like scent.
