Hi,
I'm new to this forum, but was told about it as I have a specific question relation to monarch caterpillars. I live on the west coast, north of San Francisco. I'm writing a children's book about a little boy who finds a monarch caterpillar and looks after it until it becomes a butterfly. My question is, there is a spring storm, lots of rain and wind. I need to know how the caterpillar would protect itself from either being blow away, or drowning. It is just a one day occurrence, so not over-wintering, etc.
If you have had any experience with this issue, I would really appreciate your feedback.
