Florida Seiboldii Clematis kept indoors

I brought my Florida Seiboldii Clematis indoors for the winter and kept it by the patio door in the kitchen. It is already putting on a show!

Oh, I am SO jealous!! I have got to try this one again........I had it going well in a container, planted it in the ground and then moved :-((

I am not typically a fan of doubles, but this is one that I really like - the colors, the petal shape, and the extra frilly central boss. Just lovely, and yours looks so happy.

Wow! That's a beauty! I just purchased a bunch of clematis. Among them are Florida S and Viennetta. Does anyone have a suggestion for a partner clematis to either of these two, that is a solid shade of purple that is the same color as Florida S or Viennetta's center? I'm in S CA. Thanks, Lisa

How about The President? Though the bloom timing might not work. It has been awhile since I grew Florida Seiboldi (in a pot) so don't remember the coloration exactly. Maybe take a bloom along on your visit to a nursery/store to see what matches.

As I think about it more I think the white petals fall away, ??? If so, a white blooming clematis might work better. Or a different shape, like Roguchi?

No. I did not have any problems with the bugs. I moved it out on to my deck today since the temperature has moderated. I hard pruned it again in the hope that new growth will soon come up along with a lot of flowers.
