I tied them going up the fence, will let it fall untied over the other side of fence. I use the stretchy green tie tape, which degrades over time, so eventually there will be no ties, I guess.

By tying them to the fence as horizontal as possible, you'll get more bloom If you tie them vertically and then let them drape downward you'll only get blooms on the parts that are the most horizontal. You want to stretch them sideways as much as you can to get the most blooms.
