I'd like to redo my small front yard with drought tolerant landscape.
One idea I had that could keep it from standing out from everyone else's yard (desert landscape etc.) would be to replace the existing grass with synthetic grass if I can get HOA approval.

I saw a house in another neighborhood that had synthetic grass and I hated it because it was obviously fake.

I have seen some web sites selling synthetic turf that they claim is realistic-looking, but is it really?

Does synthetic grass really exist that can pass for real by anyone walking or driving by not looking at the blades with a microscope?
If so, which types are those?

I won't want it if it can't pass for real grass. I also need to get HOA approval for it and I don't want there to be any aesthetic issues that could be a valid excuse to not approve it.
