It is an amazingly striking small standard. But it absolutely won't forgive neglect.

Since Concord originally sported from Rhapsodie Elfriede, I had thought it should be quite easy to grow. Actually she demands profuse humidity, otherwise leaves curl inward easily.

That is the prettiest picture of Concord I have seen. I was very interested to learn it was a sport from Rhapsodie Elfriede. A while back Elfriede was offered from the Optimara site as a plant so I bought it. That was over a year ago. It has been in continuous bloom the whole time since then. Here is a picture. I disbud to try to give it a rest, but it sends new buds right back up. The blooms are darker and more velvety than was captured in this photo. This is a very strong plant and will suffer some neglect!

That opening photo is just wonderful. Sigh, I really miss my Concord. I managed to kill mine years ago but it makes me feel better to hear that this one is not an easy grower. I just might give it a whirl again sometime and see if I've learned anything at all. Ha!

Oh wow.... This is one of the only chimeria I've seen that I've liked. Wow. Gorgeous!

I always try to have several backup plants for this hybrid. Since she has tendency to generate suckers quite often, propagataion is relatively easy.

Still on my wanted list. Yours is outstanding and must be Concord II with the better white edges. Humidity I have, but Concord I do not - yet. Very nice.
