Or is this an inside wall? If so please show room or whole wall

breezeway switching to sunroom.

yes inside enclosed breezeway...

I think wood matching the wall would be nice. Instead of one or one and a half boards going across the step - Use the same angled pattern and have 5 or 6 boards across the step, going at an angle. You could alternate on one step the boards angle left, on the other they angle right. Or you could do a chevron on both steps from the center out (since the walls angle in toward the door as if that is the center).

so going w wood, ya think we need a railing??? Were going to be covering up the walls~possibly sheet rock/and a 2-3 foot half wall w decorated wood... we can actually work with anything material wise,,and really wanted to make it a focal point of our very small room...thanks. Who knew having a empty small palette would be so many choices..

What material are you going to use on the floor?

engineered wood. prob a light color.

I would just finish it out in the wood then and make sure to do quarter round. It doesn't look finsished without it. Please post some photos when your done

thanks and I surely post updated snaps soon!

One more thing. You may want to use a solid wood board on top of steps and take it to a cabinet man and let him round off the edges for you and stain it to match the engineered wood. You can also ask the manufacturer of the Engineered wood to see if they have stair treads. If so you could just buy them from the floor people along with your floor.

Great minds :)... I hope you ck back to see how it turns out!!! We were thinking a thicker step, being held together with iron pieces. thanks again..
