That second one, I could have sent you tons of those. I can't kill them! They look like chicks n hens? And they don't freeze either. They been out in 0° and still thrive!

eeyore - The 2nd one is called "Mint Marvel Hens n Chicks". I transplanted it into a Bonsai pot.

It look's like it's about to flower, or it's sending out new babies.

Francesco - When I googled it; all I could find was "Cyphostemma juttae", but mine is spelled "jutiae", which turns out is a hybrid. However, I couldn't find any pics, but I hope it turn's into something bizarre. lol

A few years ago, I had a fairly large Cyphostemma juttae with a caudex measuring about 6 inches/15 cm (width). It flowered every year in spring. The flowers are inconspicuous, so the species is grown for its papery bark and massive caudices. It also grows some showy grape-like fruits but I never had any.

My understanding is that this is a self seeding plant. My biggest attraction to it was it's super smooth peeling bark. It reminds me of a "Curly Birch Tree", or the bark on a "Aloe Dichotoma"

I have started a number of Lacebark Elm seeds for bonsai and to plant in the yard just because of the awesome peeling bark. I can understand the attraction. ;)
