While it is not uncommon for drop in sinks to have some areas that may not sit perfectly flush with a counter top and silicone would remedy this, it does sound like based on your description you may have one that did not cure properly. If you have some photos you'd like to submit we would be happy to have our damage/defect department take a look at them and see if this is the case and a replacement would be a better option.

I just had my sink installed. It did not sit flush as well but plan to use the silicone. I love the sink. Am planning on ordering another one in the future. I used a one lever handle on my Sink. Am very happy with my purchase. Thank You

Yes I installed on my own and it was significantly not flush on all corners. I used some spacers and had to silicone to help secure and then white caulk to hide how much it sits up. The sink looks good but was somewhat difficult to install and make look good.
