Is your front door wood (like the rendering)? It looks like it in your first pic, but I am not certain. Would you be able to get a faux wood that would "match" the front door? If not, I would get white garage door to match the siding.....and one with small black windows to tie in with your upper windows.

yes the front door is wood and we plan to chose the stain color after we know the garage door color.

I would go white on the garage door so that it blend with the rest of the house. Garage doors are not that interesting - no need to draw attention to it by making it stand out from the house siding.

Paint the garage door the same as the house and your front door will be the focal point. later on you can replace them both if you wish with something different ,like a steel door for example.

Thank you for your response! That is what our builder said:) I had a hard time visualizing if this would not give enough contrast and make the front too white. Currently I am leaning towards white.

I agree with CLC. If the front door is wood I would look for a faux wood door to match. Faux wood products have improved so much, I think you can find something that matches the front door and looks great. If the front door isn't wood than I dont think it matters and would go with the white doors in a carriage house style.

I agree faux wood products have really improved. We have used faux products for decking and flooring and each time looked great. The garage door company that we are working with has not yet put in any faux wood doors so the only thing I have to look at is a three inch sample and a few online photos. Without seeing the products larger and in person this makes me too nervous.

I think it is a great idea to focus on the front door. We will probably still stain it close to what is in the rendering. I like the the look of the orange/brown stain against the white house. I'm not ready to do a bold color:)

I think a soft blue would look really nice, with your exterior and would also blend nicely with wood if you decided to go that way. But front doors should be inviting and special. Here's the blue I'm visualizing on your front door.
