Why grow them from seed? Here, seed-grown plants can take 15 years to flower and the flowers are usually inferior in size and color. Perhaps it is different where you are...? Root cuttings from an established plant is a better way to grow a new plant.

I tried growing from seed once to test the viability of seeds that had been in the pods outdoors for the winter. They germinated easily in damp potting soil with no special treatment.

The delay in flowering from seed grown plants is plant-related, not location-related - will be the same anywhere (although I'd venture a guess that wisteria will grow very rapidly and maybe even year round in a climate like Indonesia!). But flowering is still a matter of the maturity of the plant and fast growth won't circumvent that.

@woodyoak : i know friend, but here in indonesia, wisteria is very very rare vine tree..just few people have it, but in small size tree or new from cutting..so, i want to try grow from seed..in my country, there's many people want to grow wisteria, but
Zone 11 make m us must work little hard than people in zone5-9 where the wisteria can grow easly..well, that vine really my dream tree..

@gardengal48: everytime i grow plant, my concern is in the proces..how to prepare seed or the soil correctly also how to care them..if they became beautiful, its a bonus...wisteria is beautiful vine tree, the long journey to bloom is a beauty in gardening..and for flowering, theres many way to make them flower early, we can use hormon..

just water - room temp, then for soil, whatever i have - usually miracle gro.

The key is to peel the seed coat. Particularly, the part of the seed that is asymmetrical, which is where it will sprout. I soak for 24 hours in water. Peel the coating, and plant in a mix of peat moss, compost, topsoil, sand, and vermiculite. They germinate in 3-10 days this way.
