I'm about to start stitching my first Mirabilia mermaid -- very excited! -- and I have a question:

Like so many new patterns, the mermaids are to be stitched over two strands of linen. Has anyone tried these patterns on Aida cloth? I know, linen's absolutely lovely, but it's also harder on my eyes ... and I plan to display this mermaid along with some a fish cross-stitch I did years ago, and it's on Aida cloth.

Any other advice before I take the plunge on this project?
