Bedside Tables

Good evening! We finally found the only arrangement that would work in our bedroom, but I am having trouble with bedside tables. As you can see, there is not much space between the armoire and the bed, however we both read at night and like nightstands for books, phone, and glasses. I think a small metal one would look good between the bed and armoire and then I was thinking of a wider one for the side with the window. The issue on that side is that the window has a turn handle, rather than being a slide up window, so we need to be able to access that. I definitely want lamps too. I think staying away from wood would help break up the three main pieces, but I can't decide.
Then we have to figure out the opposite wall as well!
I know the current accent pieces are not ones we are keeping, they are just place holders.
Any suggestions welcome, thank you so much!

I use my dresser as a "side table". You could try to move the armoire to the where the dresser is, and your dresser to the side of the bed, then you would just need a nice table for the side where the window is, and two nice table lamps... and you would still have space on the corner for a chair and floor lamp. We did that too. Just an idea because it works well for us.

Putting the chest of drawers where the mirror is would allow you to move the bed over a bit. Then it would be easier to get to the window handle even with nightstands in place. The mirror could be replaced.

Put the armoire where the mirror is (or in the closet, even!) and get two big nightstands with two big lamps. As for the casement window crank, you can buy low-profile replacements that don't stick out. :)

We are unable to put anything where the mirror is because everything totally blocks the vent :( the mirror does not have to stay and we will probably put a reading chair in the corner. Both the armoire and dresser have to stay in the room...our closet does not have room for either and we have a first floor master and don't want to travel to get dressed :)

Out on a limb here without dimensions, but why isn't the armoire where the floor length mirror is? That would give you more room for a nice sized night chest. I know you said this is the only way it works, just checking. While I understand your desire for glass, you are both readers and need space to store books, a drink, a digital device or clock and a good sized lamp (lamp there now is much too small for reading by.) Consider perhaps, a painted chest of drawers on one side, and if you leave the armoire where it is, consider a C-style table on that side, or nesting tables to give you flexibility.

I love both of these for the window side, although the pottery barn one looks slightly too narrow and tall

We don't have the dimensions of the room so I'll ask, can the bed and chest of drawers be swapped? Then another round bedside table. I realise the glass door has to swing into the room.

Maria, I love that look and I wish it would work in our room, but the dresser is too long!
Strawberry47, the wall where the dresser is is where the door into the room swings open. I thought about putting the bed there, but we would lose wall space.

Ok so how about a footstool as a bedside table on the tall boy side of the room and a standard lamp or wall lamp for reading? In a previous home I had to have this arrangement and it worked well. My footstool was cane but perhaps a metal of porcelain style would work for you.

This is what I was thinking of, there's just enough space to rest a book, drink and in my case my glasses!

Sell the chest dresser and get two large nightstands with drawers.

Usually the longest, uninterrupted wall would be best for a large bed and two night stands, it looks like it would be the wall where your long dresser is. I think you said that is where the door swings in?
There has to be a simple solution to your dilemma, maybe drawing the room with dimensions and showing the vents etc. would help.

Why not try a light source over the bed? Or sconces? Of course the idea might need to be modified due to your window, but here are some ideas for you from a few of our bedroom designs. Notice the nightstands?
