Here's another great resource or hundreds of photographs of pelargoniums, http://pelargonium-club.ru/. At the top right hand corner click "eng" for the english version. I wish these were more readily available in Canada.
There was a time that there had been three or more mail order geranium places in Canada ... but, now, I don't know if any exist at all? Really too bad it's now so difficult to obtain anything other than a few of the older varieties. Many people just don't seem to be as interested in houseplants as they were in times gone by :(
Hello Twors, I am hopeful, even if there may not appear to be as much interest locally, it is easier these days to find those with the same interests on a global scale.
I stumbled across some more dedicated geranium/pelargonium galleries, however I have no idea what the captions read, but the photos are beautiful!:
I am wondering if perhaps they are also breeding these plants to have such a variety, or if they are simply more popular in these areas. I tend to give geraniums as house gifts to others in hope of keeping the interest alive. They are by far my favourite houseplant! Continuously blooming, no issues with pests, easy to propagate, can be grown indoors or out. I just wish the blooms had fragrance... oh well, I can't have it all!
Talk about an array of amazing geraniums shown in those links, many of which I'd love to have for myself! I use to have 20 or 30 fancy varieties, though slowly had winnowed them down to my favorites and then later I had gotten out of houseplants pretty much altogether, but I wish I had kept the best geraniums! Years ago, Golden Acre in Edmonton use to bring in some rare geraniums, though the owner had up and sold the place and the facility had been redeveloped into an office. I'm sure that outlet had enjoyed high sales volume and it was a surprise to most patrons that it ended up being repurposed :(
